INDIANAPOLIS (FBW)–Floridians’ involvement in the Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting was evident in Indianapolis June 10-11. Sunshine State residents were on stage, in meetings, at banquets, and visiting in the exhibit hall.

Along with other Floridians serving on committees, two were elected by the Convention to serve on the Committee on Nominations: James L. Locke, Hillcrest Baptist Church, Pensacola; and Mike Branch, First Baptist Church, Fernandina Beach. As committee members, they will nominate people to serve on SBC boards, commissions and committees in 2009-10. Former SBC President Frank Page encouraged the 2008 committee to name many who have not previously served to denominational committees and boards.

When not carrying on the business of the annual meeting, messengers could be found checking messages from home or visiting in the halls.
