GRAPEVINE, Texas (SBT)—The Southern Baptists of Texas Convention will host a "Welcome to Texas" reception following the June 11 evening session of the SBC Pastors' Conference in San Antonio.

The reception, planned for 9:45-10:45 p.m., will be in the Mission Room (Room 103) of the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. The program is scheduled to include brief remarks from SBC President Frank Page and SBC Executive Committee President Morris Chapman, and greetings from SBTC President Steve Swofford and SBTC Executive Director Jim Richards.

Bobby Welch, strategist for global evangelical relations at the SBC Executive Committee and former SBC president, will report on his pre-Crossover evangelism meetings held in April and May throughout south and central Texas. Welch is pastor emeritus of First Baptist Church in Daytona Beach.

Others on the program are Texas pastors Marcos Ramos of First Baptist Church in Galena Park, Michael Lewis of Great Hills Baptist Church in Austin, Bart Barber of First Baptist Church in Farmersville, and Nathan Lino of Northeast Houston Baptist Church.

"We're so pleased to welcome the SBC back to Texas," SBTC Executive Director Jim Richards said. "We have a great mission field here and God has given us great churches for the task. It will be an exciting time for the SBTC to tell a little of that story to our guests Monday evening."

Finger foods, cake and other refreshments will be served. Everyone is invited to attend.
