Maguire State Mission Offering: A matter of perspective …
Point of View

Florida Baptists are like no other Baptist family! We are blessed to serve together in this wonderful state and to have the esteemed leadership team the Lord has bestowed upon us. I came under conviction three weeks ago that we are a generous giving body when it comes to the Lottie Moon and Annie Armstrong Offerings. We are a “mission minded” fellowship of churches and joyfully give to support our missionaries around the world.

Going on Faith: College Students follow Christ to South Florida

MIAMI (FBC)—It is more than a love of children and the call to share their Christian faith that brings Florida Baptist college students to two urban counties in South Florida each summer. They go to encourage and bolster the work of churches in the state they love, making Florida their mission field.

Responding ‘as Jesus would’ to Florida’s immigrants

FORT LAUDERDALE (FBC)—Across South Florida, immigrants live in dire straits and need. After escaping rampant hunger, abject poverty and sometimes even political and religious persecution in their homelands, they have found a new home in America. Yet they have little hope when unexpected expenses turn their lives upside down. Without help, they go hungry; they go without health care; they go without medication. They turn to the church for compassion.

SEBRING (FBC)—Hopeless and hurting after being diagnosed with a brain tumor, Robert Roger’s suffering was further aggravated when hospitals denied him treatment. Unable to pay for his medical treatment, he was left to wonder if he would live or die.

JACKSONVILLE (FBC)—John and Marcia Moylan knew they were called to serve on the Florida mission field “someday” but little did they know that doors of commitment would open sooner to bring immediacy to their call.
