TALLAHASSEE (FBW/BP)—Gov. Jeb Bush signed into law May 25 House Bill 1659, the Parental Notice of Abortion Act, which implements voters’ approval of a constitutional amendment last November requiring that at least one parent be notified 48 hours before a minor may have an abortion in Florida.

are one step closer to being required to operate according to
health and safety standards required of other medical facilities
in the state after the Florida House of Representatives easily
adopted the “Women’s Health and Safety Act” (HB
1041) April 13.

committees in the Florida House of Representatives and Senate
have adopted widely divergent legislation to implement voters’
approval of Amendment 4, permitting slot machines at pari-mutuel
facilities in South Florida.
