Volunteers provide landscaping, massages at Union University

JACKSON, Tenn. (BP)—Nearly 300 Union University students,
faculty and staff members took advantage of free chair massages on May 5,
thanks to the volunteer efforts of licensed massage therapists from across
Tennessee.

Heather Martin, a junior at Union University, was trying to
climb into a bathtub for safety when the E4 tornado hit the Union campus in
Jackson, Tennessee. It was 7:02 P.M. on February 5. “It sounded like a thousand
trains,” she said, describing the funnel cloud that ripped through the school,
causing massive damage to all but one campus building.

JACKSON, Tenn. (BP)--Fifty-one students were treated for injuries and nine were kept overnight in a local hospital after a tornado wreaked havoc on the campus of Union University Feb. 5.
