NEW BAPTIST COVENANT
Thanks for editorial
|
Regarding the Feb. 21 editorial, "What Paul's rebuke of Peter
should teach Jimmy," thanks for keeping us informed on the real happenings in
the New Baptist Covenant meeting. Please continue to keep us updated. How else
will we know the truth about what is going on outside the Southern Baptist
Convention (SBC)?
Your comments were on target: "Conservatives warned ...that
their failure to accept the total truthfulness of God's Word would have
terrible theological consequences." I don't want to even imagine what would
have happened to the SBC had certain leaders not taken a stand against the
liberal factions existing in the 1980's. However, the liberals still want to
move the SBC to more liberal interpretations of the Bible and faith under the
guise of "acceptance of all beliefs."
Thanks for your truthful journalism and continued
watchfulness of this situation.

Resolutions important
|
I agree with the editor (Feb. 21) regarding the New Baptist
Covenant. The Apostle Paul had to address several spiritual and moral issues to
the New Testament churches to promote the unity of the faith. SBC Resolutions
are not meant to divide people. It's important that we let the church and the
world know how we stand on moral and spiritual issues.
