OBITUARYPublished November 2, 2006
TAMPA (FBW)-Jerry D. Key, director of Tampa Port Ministries, died Sept. 6 while on the cruise ship Miracle, one of the ships he served as chaplain. He was 60. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Key was a graduate of University of South Florida, Tampa; and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Wake Forest, N.C. Prior to his call to the ministry, he worked in the seafood business in Tampa. A resident of Tampa since 1976, he was a member of Idlewild Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Ramona; a son, Jonathan; daughter, Amy; and three grandsons. |
