MARRIAGE AMENDMENT

Urgent prayer needed

As we bear down on the deadline for the marriage amendment, let me say that God is allowing me to bear witness to His miracle. In recent days, we have seen the Body of Christ awaken and come alive – may it not be too late.

In these final days our churches across the state have done a wonderful job of getting in their petitions. I believe God is doing something much larger in the hearts of men and women across our state, as we address this pro-family issue within our homes.

Volunteers are still needed for processing and prayer support would be appreciated. You may visit and respond by going to the Web site www.Florida4Marriage.org. If you would like to join us for an open Prayer Call on Tuesday, January 31, Dial 563-843-7429 Access code: 1059513# from 10 a.m. - Noon (EST).

We will also be praying over the “Pony Express Drivers” who will be taking the final petitions to each of the 67 counties by 5 p.m. on the deadline date, Feb. 1 at our processing headquarters on the last day.

Volunteers are still needed at First Baptist Orlando to process petitions up until that deadline. Come be a part of making history!

ABORTION

Stop the holocaust

Abortion on demand has been legal in the U.S. since 1973. In that time approximately 49 million unborn children have been slaughtered in the womb. There are three or four ways this holocaust could be stopped.

First, the President could declare by executive order that science has determined that life begins at conception and as such is protected by the 14th amendment. He could then instruct all U. S. Attorneys to prosecute those who perform abortions. This is unlikely since I understand that his wife and mother oppose overturning Roe v. Wade.

Second, Congress could pass the Life at Conception Act (HR 552). Then under the provisions of Roe. V. Wade abortion would be illegal. Again, unlikely as long as Christians continue to elect pro-death representatives to the Congress.

Third, the Supreme Court could revisit Roe in light of present day science and recognize what scientists have known all along: Life begins at conception. Without divine intervention, this seems unlikely to occur with the present make-up of the Court.

Fourth, the Lord God could give this Christian Republic over to the radical Muslims. Under sharia law, abortion would be banned. This seems an increasingly likely way to stop the shedding of innocent blood. God delivered His people over to foreign nations in the Old Testament and stopped their devotion to idols. He could do the same to America and stop legalized abortion. America is killing 1.5 million unborn children each year. The radical Muslims are keeping up to four wives pregnant year round. It shouldn’t take a mathematical genius to do the numbers. We will be a minority in America in a few generations. Then there will be one last free election and sharia law will stop the holocaust.

The question we face is: Do we want the fourth option? If not we must do what we can to see that one of the other three become a reality.

America has a choice: God’s law or chaos.

When is there a soul?

The author of the “Equality of all humans” article in the January 12 Witness makes the assumption human life begins at conception and excludes all other possibilities. He asks if size, level of development, environment, or degree of dependency have anything to do with humanity. The answer is no. But there is something that does. Is a biological body without a soul a human being? No! Is a soul without a body a human being? No! The pertinent question is: When does a body receive a soul and become a viable human being?

Genesis 2:7 says, “The Lord formed man and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and he became a living soul.” Job 33:4, “The spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.” Isaiah 42:5, “the Lord created the earth and its offspring, and gives breath to the people on it.”

We become a viable human being when God breathes in the breath of soul-life at birth. There are at least 20 other verses that measure human life from birth including Luke 2:10-11, the birth of Christ. There are no verses that measure human life from before birth.

I am opposed to abortion because it is a sin. It disrupts God’s plan that a healthy pregnancy results in the birth of a human child. But, you can’t murder a biological body without a soul. There is a difference between human viewpoint and divine viewpoint.

TEBOW

Gator fan watching

As a Univ. of Florida Law School alum and Gator fan in Arkansas, but even moreso as a brother in Christ, I’m inspired by Tim Tebow’s story. Thank you so much for publishing the article regarding Tebow’s college recruitment. I expect there will be many more opportunities to share the fruits of Tim Tebow’s heart for our Lord. I look forward to following with extra joy his every moment as a Gator. God bless Bob and Pam Tebow for their ministry and godly training of all their children.
