PBAU holds spring commencement

WEST PALM BEACH (PBAU)–Palm Beach Atlantic University granted 450 associate, bachelor, master and professional degrees in a commencement ceremony April 30, held for the first time at the Palm Beach County Convention Center.

During the ceremony, the University issued its first professional degree, the doctor of pharmacy degree.

Rich DeVos, owner of the Orlando Magic and Amway co-founder, was the featured speaker and received an honorary doctorate in humane letters from the University.

DeVos talked about how choosing the right atmosphere, one that promotes respect and faith, can positively infuse attitudes and actions.

"I want to encourage you today to keep yourself in the right atmosphere to where your life will be enriched and where you have the opportunity to enrich others," he said.

PBAU also recently announced it is recruiting students for its Millenia Lakes campus Master of Science Degree program in Counseling Psychology. Classes begin in August.

“This program is designed to focus on biblical truths along with established theories and practices,” Campus Director Audrey Kelleher said in a news release and it is designed to meet the requirements for professional licensure or certification in the State of Florida, and other states with similar licensure laws.
