Pompano Beach FBC welcomes new pastor on 90th anniversary

POMPANO BEACH (FBW)–Historic First Baptist Church in Pompano Beach celebrated its 90th anniversary and welcomed new pastor Ron Harvey May 4.

Harvey and his wife, Rhonda, moved to Pompano Beach from Springhill, La., where he was pastor of Central Baptist Church.

The Harveys have two adult sons. Harvey is a graduate of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, and East Texas Baptist University in Marshall.

Harvey will lead the 1800-member congregation which grew from its birth on Tuesday, May 4, 1915, in the local Methodist church.

The first congregation claimed 21 charter members.
