The church was heavily damaged during Hurricane Frances. The church steeple was upended through the roof and balcony of the building, leaving a nine-foot hole. A widely-circulated photo of the damaged building garnered world-wide attention.

During “Extreme Faith - Renovate Our Church,” housing and meals for the volunteers will be provided by the church and a feeding unit of the Florida Baptist Convention Disaster Relief. Pastor Ken Babington, in a press release, said the event would provide a mission trip experience for volunteers.

“It will be great fellowship as the Body of Christ helps one another,” Babington said.

First, Cocoa Beach, is currently seeking to donate 80 pews to churches in need. Individuals may purchase a pew for $100. For more information, call 321-783-2844.
