BCF annual leadership conference features Tommy Green

 

GRACEVILLE (BCF)—Baptist College of Florida’s annual leadership conference will take place at its Graceville campus Mar. 28-30, and is free to the public. The conference features Thomas Green, pastor of First Baptist Church of Brandon, as the guest speaker for the Monday and Wednesday sessions. Both sessions are from 10-11 a.m. Twelve breakout sessions on Tuesday from 10-11:20 a.m. will feature various staff members from First Baptist, Brandon. Breakout sessions will include the following topics: Pastoral Ministry and Leadership, Counseling in the Church, Ministry through Music and Blended Worship; New Member Assimilation and Adult Sunday School Growth, Designing Ministry to and by Senior Adults; Building a Purpose Driven Student Ministry; The Nuts and Bolts of Children’s Ministry; Safety and Security in Preschool Ministry; Singles Ministry 101: the Basics of Singles Ministry; Building a Children’s Choir from Birth to Youth; Planning for the Future ... Building a Women’s Ministry for Tomorrow.

Green has served as Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Brandon, since April, 1996. Since that time, the church has grown from 2700 to over 5000 members under his leadership. The average Sunday School attendance has increased by over 500 individuals during this time period and the worship attendance has more than doubled to over 2300 persons per Sunday. In addition, the church has baptized over 1300 persons since 1996. The church averages adding over 400 new members per year. First Baptist Church of Brandon was recognized by the Billy Graham School of Evangelism and Church Growth of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary as the Most Comprehensive Ministry Program in the Southern Baptist Convention in 2003. In addition to over 25 years of pastoral experience, Green has served in various denominational positions included president of the Florida Baptist Convention from 2002-04, member of the board of trustees of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary from 2002-present and member of the State Board of Missions of the Florida Baptist Convention from 1999 to present. Green holds a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Samford University in Birmingham, Ala., and a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Theology, both from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans, La.
