Ministry leaders learn to identify church role in modern culture at workshopPublished March 3, 2005
SANFORD (FBC)-Take a closer look at the prevalent beliefs and social forms of today and learn to understand the churchs role in emerging culture at the VelocityCulture Workshop March 14-15 at Covenant Community Church in Sanford. The two-day meeting sponsored by the Florida Baptist Convention Office of Leadership Development and the Innovative Church Network will feature keynote speaker Ron Martoia. Martoia is a pastor, church planter and author who travels the nation speaking on the subject of emerging culture. The changes we have seen (in todays society) are mind boggling, Martoia said. With the projections of what is ahead, how church leaders understand the monumental shifts in our culture could hardly be more complex or exhilarating. Cost to attend is $99 and includes two on-site lunches. Participants are responsible for lodging. Register by March 9 via fax using a credit card at 904-596-4440 or mail registration form with check to: Florida Baptist Convention, Office of Leadership Development, 1230 Hendricks Ave., Jacksonville, FL 32207.
