Mother-Daughter overnight events plannedPublished February 17, 2005
The Womens Missions and Ministries Department is sponsoring two Mother-Daughter overnight events March 18-19 at the Blue Springs Baptist Conference Center and April 8-9 at the Lake Yale Baptist Conference Center. Girls in first through fourth grades and their mothers or mother substitutes will learn how to make Jesus a part of daily life through a weekend of activities centered on the theme Everywhere with Jesus! Mothers and daughters who attend the overnight event will strengthen their relationship as they participate in activities designed to promote a mission lifestyle. Through out the weekend, mothers and daughters will meet and talk with missionaries Rebecca McHenry from the Caribbean and Paul and Kay Eaton from Uganda. Participants will also be introduced to women of faith through Bible study. Other activities include putting together a Busy Moms Cookbook for women involved in the Christian Womens Job Corp. As a grand finale to the weekend event, girls will participate in a Campers Choice activity, such as clowning capers or puppet pals, and perform as a group in the closing assembly. For registration information, call 800-226-8584, ext. 3143, or visit www.flbaptist.org and click on calendar, putting in the month of the event and then clicking on the event itself. |
