Parenting skills that build stronger families subject of March 5 conferencePublished February 3, 2005
Learn how to build stronger families at a one-day parenting conference held at Hiland Park Baptist Church, Panama City, March 5. The conference, based on the book Building Strong Parents in Stressful Times, will feature author John Trent, president of Strong Families, a ministry committed to strengthening marriage and family relationships. Trent will discuss the importance of affirming children from a young age and the meaning of blessing a childs life. Other topics will include learning from the experience of senior adults and improving communication skills between couples and within families. A nationwide speaker, Trent has spoken on marriage and family topics at several Promise Keepers conferences and has been a featured guest on television and radio programs including Focus on the Family, Insight for Living, CNNs Sonya Live and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. He has authored and co-authored several best-selling books including The Blessing and The Language of Love. The conference begins at 9 a.m. and concludes at 3 p.m. Cost to attend is $35 per couple or $20 per individual. Lunch is provided for an additional $5.
