Team-building conference equips ministry leaders through hands-on training

Creating a dynamic ministry that fulfills God’s work through team development is the focus of the “Building Powerful Ministry Teams” conference held at The Church of Pembroke Pines, Pembroke, Feb. 24. Church staff and lay leaders attending this hands-on training will learn to foster a team environment that shares a common vision and direction while building trust and good group communication. During this one-day event, Bob Bumgarner, director of the Florida Baptist Convention Office of Leadership Development will use practical teaching tools, multimedia presentations and interactive exercises to address characteristics that create high-performance ministry teams. Topics of discussion will include defining the common purpose of a team, establishing clear roles, working together and crafting strong relationships with team members. The “Building Powerful Ministry Teams” conference “outlines clear biblical principles for building a great ministry team. This conference can help mend a broken ministry or improve one that is already in touch with God’s ways,” said Bumgarner.

The conference begins Thursday, Feb. 24 at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 5 p.m. Cost to attend is $30 and includes a workbook and lunch. Register before Feb. 18 via the Convention’s website at www.flbaptist.org, event registration or mail registration form with check to: Florida Baptist Convention, Office of Leadership Development, 1230 Hendricks Ave. Jacksonville, FL 32207.
