Miami Christian band releases videoPublished January 27, 2005
Courtesy Photo MIAMI (FBW)Miami Christian alternative rock band, Invisible Fireworks, will release its first music video in a free concert Jan. 29. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. at 180 Studio Café in Miami. After playing together two years in secular and Christian venues, the band will introduce The Weather in My Eyes, which acoustic guitarist and vocalist Ryan Ray told Florida Baptist Witness illustrates an individuals struggle with sin. Ray, son of Gateway Baptist Church pastor Steven Ray, is a psychology major at University of Miami. The other band members are also college students: Edgar Arana, lead guitar, Florida International University; Frank Abella, bass, and Rick Davila, drums, students at Miami-Dade College. The bands music and lyrics are a collaborative effort for its members. Invisible Fireworks recognized spiritual needs of both patrons and performers while playing in secular venues, according to Ray. The group now states at the end of every performance, We believe in Christ, he said. Even in the grimey clubs there is applause. During the Jan. 29 concert, 200 free DVDs of the new release will be given to those attending. 180 Studio Café, owned and operated by Christian recording artist Freddie Colloca, is located at 6308 NW 77 Court in Miami.
