State Collegiate Retreat Feb. 25-27 at Lake Yale

JACKSONVILLE (FBC)–Students from universities across Florida will gather at Lake Yale Baptist Conference Center, Feb. 25-27 for a weekend of spiritual restoration and recreational activities.

The 2005 State Collegiate Retreat is open to church college groups, students involved in Baptist Collegiate Ministries (BCM) and college-aged individuals interested in attending.

“This conference is a lot of things all in one,” said Cara Clark, state BCM council president. From team building through group and game times to the spiritual development gained in worship sessions and seminars, the focus of this time is to retreat for spiritual refreshment and cultivate unity among students across the state, she added.

Throughout the weekend, session topics and various activities will center on the theme “Your First Love” based on Revelation 2:2-4.

Evening worship celebrations will feature keynote speaker Greg Pinkner, teaching pastor at Fellowship Church in Knoxville, and music by the Ben Davis Project.

Seminars topics will include life application of biblical principals, being evangelistically minded, time management and a book study of the Ragamuffin Gospel.

Seminars on other religions and apologetics will also be offered.

On Saturday afternoon, a special commissioning service will be held for this year’s student summer missionaries.

The conference begins at 6 p.m. on Friday and concludes Sunday at 9 a.m. Registration is available online with a credit card, or mail registration form with check to: Collegiate Ministries, Florida Baptist Convention, 1230 Hendricks Ave., Jacksonville, FL. 32256.

Registration ends Feb. 10. Costs range from $25 to $90 per person, based on lodging and meals. For more information, registration or registration forms, visit www.ReaLife.org, e-mail BCM@flbaptist.org or call 800-226-8584, ext. 3092.
