Florida drivers may ‘Choose Life’ license plate without paying switching fee

JACKSONVILLE (FBW)–Florida drivers, for a limited time, may switch to a Choose Life license plate by mail, and Choose Life, Inc., will pay the switching fee of $19.65. A driver does not have to wait until his renewal date to take advantage of the organization’s offer.

The purchase of a Florida Choose Life license plate contributes $20 to an agency, in the county of purchase, which encourages adoption. These agencies include crisis pregnancy centers, maternity homes and non-profit adoption agencies. The contribution is tax-deductible.

Several donors have given funds to allow Choose Life, Inc. to ask drivers to switch their tags without the extra fee. Choose Life, Inc. must handle the tag process.

Complete instructions are posted at www.choose-life.org. The cost is $22. If a driver wishes to renew his tag as well as switch, he must add $28.10, $38.10, or $48.10 as a renewal fee, depending on the weight of the vehicle.
