The Florida Baptist Convention has been richly blessed by the Lord through the leadership of Dr. John Sullivan. Dr. and Mrs. Sullivan have completed 15 years of visionary leadership among us. The heart of the pastor is demonstrated in the counsel, friendship, and support that Dr. Sullivan offers to our churches. He is truly a pastor to our pastors. The trust level of our Florida Baptist family in the work of our State Convention is based in the tenor of fair and consistent leadership provided by Dr. Sullivan.

Dr. Sullivan has surrounded himself with a godly and capable team who reflect the passion of his heart. During this 15-year period over 1400 churches have been planted. Florida Baptists have contributed in excess of $305,000,000 to the Cooperative Program during this time. Dr. Sullivan has preached in over 800 Florida Baptist churches. He leads our State Convention staff in soul-winning and active involvement in the local church.

Our Convention has experienced a time of peace amidst the storm that marks the day for many state conventions through his leadership. The Florida Baptist Convention stands as a model of unity and cooperation because of the strong convictions of our executive director. Dr. Sullivan possesses the ability to make all people feel important and needed. He relates to churches regardless of size or budget. This unique ability of rendering acceptance and inclusion enables our Florida Baptist Convention to look to the future with great promise.

The description of Noah as a just man, blameless in his generation, and who walked with God aptly characterizes the integrity and ministry of John Sullivan.
