What About The CALL?Stay or go 'with class' In response to the letter entitled "Leave Quietly" in the November 28th issue, the writer gives sincere and wise advise. However, the concept of God's man being CALLED to serve in a particular place was not mentioned. The author is correct to say that when it is time to go a man of God will not "slam the door" on the way out. But who decides when it is time to go? Seems to me that The Lord calls and The Lord should be The One to call in another direction. If a minister is terminated, then it would be out of his hands, and God will bless his faithfulness. Far too many ministers have given up on a church, deciding that their congregation is hopeless. They float resume's looking for an escape hatch. Churches swap pastors all the time. The result is a stagnation of spirituality because instead of building on the benefits of a long-term relationship of ministry and service, every one is starting over. Sometimes serving The Lord means that you do not go when it is difficult. It all depends on HIS CALL for your ministry. If The Holy Spirit tells you to go - go with class. If He does not tell you to go, then don't - with class. It's a good thing for us all that Moses didn't leave his calling, and slip away into the wilderness one night because he was discouraged.
