Nominations and appointments to state boards and committees
have been announced by the Committee on Nominations in
preparation for the Florida Baptist State Convention in Tampa,
November 10-11, 2003. Messengers to the convention will be asked
to vote on the nominations, but the appointments are not subject
to actions by the convention.
The Committee on Nominations of the Florida Baptist State
Convention is required to publish in Florida Baptist Witness on
or before the first day of October, or as soon thereafter as may
be practicable, the following list of nominees to be elected by
the Florida Baptist State Convention. Nominees for vacant
positions will be named by the committee during its pre-convention
meeting November 10, 2003.

During the
annual meeting of the Florida Baptist State Convention,
messengers will consider a revision to the Bylaws of the Florida
Baptist Witness to increase the total number of
commissioners from 9 to 15. Six additional nominees will
be presented by the Committee on Nominations pending
approval of the Bylaw revision.
