Alachua First Baptist Church in Brooksville will present Experiencing God: The Musical Sept. 27 at 7 p.m., and Sept. 28 at 11 a.m. For more information, call 352-796-6791, or go to www.fbcbv.org. Brevard First Baptist Church of Indialantic will honor administrative assistant Sandy Woodall in a reception Sept. 27 at 3 p.m. She is retiring after serving First Baptist 25 years. She and her husband, Ernie, who also serves FBC in properties support, have one son and three grandchildren. First Baptist Church in Cocoa honored the police, firefighters and rescue workers killed in the 9-11 attacks, in a special memorial service Sept. 7. First Baptist Church in Fort Walton Beach recently honored Judy Parrish upon her retirement as pastors ministry assistant. She served the congregation more than 33 years. She and her husband, James, have three children and four grandchildren.
Greater Orlando Dover Shores Baptist Church will observe "40 Days of Purpose" beginning Oct. 11 with an ice cream social and simulcast of a kick-off rally at 5:30 p.m. The campaign requires personal study, worship, music and optional home group participation. First Baptist Church in Bushnell has called Casey Ferguson as pastor. The graduate of University of Florida, Gainesville, is teaching agriculture at a Lake County high school and has served as pastor of a local Missionary Baptist church. He will begin his tenure at First Baptist Oct. 10.

Director Alicia Burgess (left) serves with 15 volunteers, including Diane Huggins, Tammy Goodwin and Norrie Chumley. The Center, a ministry of First Baptist Church, DeFuniak Springs, provides free on-site pregnancy tests, education and counseling for mothers-to-be, and a post-abortion healing program for women who regret their abortion decisions. The facility will move to a permanent location on Highway 90 West in 2004. |
